The Tzedek (Justice) Seekers is a new group at Temple formed by members who were inspired by participation in the women’s marches in January to become a voice for advocacy in our federal, state and local governments. Tzedek is the Hebrew word for justice, and the group is dedicated to  endorsing legislative actions that assure justice for all segments of our society. The group shares information about issues that may then generate individual  phone calls or emails to legislators.  No one in the group speaks  on behalf of Temple Beth-El.  The group is non-partisan,  although individuals are free to express their opinions.  Anyone who is a member of Temple or wishes to engage with the Tzedek Seekers group is invited to attend meetings, which are held on the third Monday of each month at noon, at Temple. Anyone who is interested in joining the group or just being on an email list can contact Marzy Bauer.

In addition to encouraging Temple members to contact their elected officials, Tzedek Seekers are sponsoring educational programs to help Temple members learn how to be effective advocates.

Tzedek Seekers encourage members of Temple Beth-El to reach out to their legislators on issues that are of importance to our Jewish values. Here are some ways to contact your legislators.
