Slichot – Temple Beth-El and Sinai Synagogue Together
September 1, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
We will show the movie, Hotel Everest, which runs for 40 minutes.
In Israel and Palestine, the road to peace is a steep climb. For three activists, one Israeli, one Palestinian and one American, the challenges seem insurmountable. And yet they try to see and understand the humanity in “the other” and forge connections that promote empathy, understanding and, in their wildest hopes, peace. Hotel Everest is their story.
Then, we will enjoy some refreshments, while we change the Torah mantles (covers) from the regular ones to the High Holyday white ones.
We will end the evening with a brief, yet meaningful Slichot service, designed to prepare us for the coming High Holydays.
